Remarks

small to medium sized, fragile pecten up to 35mm
colour mostly very light pink to red-brown
a related species is Veprichlamys jousseaumei (Bavay, 1904) from S. Japan to Indonesia but V. kiwaensis has less radial costae (20-24) compared to 30-38 ribs of V. jousseaumei.
